There's supposed to be way to improve your gear and it requires the use of a "loom". I don't know what a loom is for starters, and does it mean improving my gears stats or inserting the (very few) traits I've picked up?

And the second thing. There are certain stone sections in a 4x4 grid which move you through another wall in the direction the arrow is pointing. My question is, how do I get by those? I have all but two spells but I doubt Transformation and Bombarda would help. And you can't jump over that floor, it moves you anyway.
