I dislike the fact that I have to have a room dedicated for work (or share an existing room for work purposes), and dislike that I am using my own resources for work (internet, heat (I lower my temps when I leave for work), power, etc), and the fact that Im less productive at home due to distractions or inability to speak with people at the office. (This last bit matters since I have deadlines I have to meet, not necessarily just busy work)

Only thing you gain is the no commuting (which I personally dont mind since my commute is only 15 minutes one way and dont have any traffic).

Most people are actually more productive. And significantly more comfortable. And you have more flexibility for lunch ect. Plus you can take an hour off or whatever to get errands done.

There are downsides to working from home; it's not a panacea for the problems of work. But a lot of people feel those issues are outwighed by not having to commute

By TC's logic the employer should be paying for your gas and your time commuting should be considered on the clock

When you're at home you don't have to pretend to work. You can just lay down and take a nap.

Because I hate going into an office, hate commuting, like having the freedom to control my time, like being able to be available at hole for family matters and appointments, am significantly more productive at home, etc, etc.

I have absolutely no interest in returning to an office and will likely keep it this way until the day I retire, or if I get some sort of crazy offer that I cant refuse thats office based.

I have a really good work-life balance when working from home. I get up roughly an hour before I need to clock in and that gives me time to shower and eat breakfast. I have the liberty to get up and stretch my legs or do some sort of chore (think start a load of laundry or run the dishwasher). The moment my shift is over, I clock out and I'm already home.

Even a "short" commute robs you of a lot of personal time. When I worked in the office, it took me about twenty minutes to drive there and thirty minutes back and it was close by.

Also, personally, I love being in my own little world not able to be bothered by my coworkers for inane stuff or have to hear them working.

Because I hate leaving the comfort of my house, to the temperature I like, to my wife, and pets. To drive to work, change out, and spend the next 10 hours working my ass off. One of my closest friends, makes a little less than me. Like maybe a grand or two less. Wakes up and her job is in her office doing computer work

So quite a few posts here said so you can take an hour or so off to do errands. Whats stopping you from doing this when in the office? Ive done that many times, where I go out and do stuff and come back.

Imagine doing that, but instead of going back to an office you just go back home.

Depends on the errands and where your office is located in relation to your home. For example, my primary errand is going grocery shopping which I would have to go home to drop the groceries off. My office is about 40 mins away from my house so I couldn't do that during the day unless I worked from home.

My main benefit is getting chores around the house done. I can take small breaks to wash dishes and clothes and cleaning during the day and not spend my free time doing them.

Also I get to work with my dogs surrounding me. My wife is a teacher so I get to have lunch at home with her during the summer. Plus with the way my job is, I'm not always busy the entire work day. Some days I only have a meeting in the afternoon and a couple emails to send out. On those days I'm sorta just "on call" and can watch TV or play games.

Some people have to pay for parking at their offices. So yeah while we spend a bit more on heating & electricity for my husbands home office, its nowhere near how much he was spending on parking.
