My ex cheated on me. Nothing else girls have done to me have come close to that.

My son's mother cheated on me with her boss and tried to cover it up. After we broke up she got fired and claimed it was because "she was too good at her job, it seemed suspicious" but was dating her boss. Told a shit load of lies to my son and now I can't have a relationship with him because she made promises and went back on them as soon as they were supposed to come to fruition.

Haven't seen my son in 7 years and it breaks my heart. He hates me because of lies and I'd rather he be happy hating me than me being happy just to see him..

I never let a girl get close enough to me to hurt me >_>. I've been disappointed from not getting what I wanted, but I immediately accepted that they were in their right to live life how they want. The girls Id be with, if I heard they were being sus, my thought was more so "Eh, I don't mind going back to being single" lol.

Usually I would agree, but this was a little more involved. They had been messaging and talking for months, and only saw each other once due to it being semi long distance. There were also assurances that neither would ever simply ghost the other. I did worry that Heartomaton was getting attached too fast (and told him so), but this was more than one simple date and then ghost.

It is never a good look to make every situation universal and it is not a good look to contradict his feelings.

Its called, she wasnt feeling him so she ghosted. Stinks but she didnt do anything wrong. His hurt feelings are still valid though but shock is also right.

I get your point. A lot worse has happened to me too, but also a lot of great things have happened to me that have not happened to Heartomaton so I get his frustration.

He never even referred to it as a trauma. He just said that it was the worst thing that's been done to him and the TC turned it into a pissing contest like "that's not as severe as the other things listed in this topic."

But at the end of the day the client is the expert in their own lives. If something is self-identified as traumatic it's not productive to argue, that just short circuits the entire therapeutic process.

Good way of putting it. People who try to gatekeep what trauma is are fucked up

I'm not calling you fucked up over it, but it is straight up gatekeeping.

The existence of "greater" pain does not negate the feelings of people experiencing "lesser" pain, and telling someone in pain "it could be worse, look at this!" is belittling at best.
