I've gone to bars on Valentine's Day in the past and there are often groups of single women out together. YMMV depending on where you live though. I live in a city with a large population and hundreds of bars.

Edit: I missed the New York City part. There will definitely be single women at the bar in New York.

My bar doesn't reopen until next week but I went alone plenty of times and it was fun. The single staff/bartenders add to that too, good specials also.
