Yeah, it's also on PS4/PS5. I played a ton of the one on 3DS back in the day.

anyone know if the $99 versions 27 exclusive songs are really exclusive? Ive put 100s of hours into both others and plan to do the same here but dont care about the season passes at all. Would get the base version no problem but I want Melodies of life, Zanarkand, eyes on me, and im sure others in that 27 song list.

edit: nevermind I didnt notice it was on the 80 deluxe version too. Im fine with getting that then

I was up early this morning and couldn't fall back asleep. I did a run through of the FF5 songs. Battle of the Big Bridge is a top 5 Final Fantasy song. Always loved it. I'm going to try the pre-order versions that came with the game later.

I'll be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the price, especially the one with all the DLC. I wanted the preorder songs but don't really care much about the "DLC Pack 1." I want DLC Pack 2 where it has Mana and Chrono Trigger. So what do I do? Buy the 100 dollar version like an asshole.

I recently bought Curtain Call pretty cheap, and put a lot of hours into it. So Im a little burnt out on the game at the moment. Give me a few months when I get further removed from it, and when the price drops, and Ill dive back in.

Like you DONT do rhythm games or you just kinda suck at them and avoid them? The easy mode on this is really simple with one button press I think. And there's a demo. If it's that you "suck at them" i'd say try the demo.

If you just don't like them then this game won't change your mind, no matter how much you like Squaresoft music.

30 down, 340 to go or something. Depending on what version you got. But yeah, I can't wait to get off work here and head home to play.

I was randomly looking at footage on Twitch and saw someone else playing on the hardest level. First, hardest difficulty is freaking insane. Second, they were using the shoulder buttons and that makes more sense than using A. It feels better. I tried that and liked it more. I think they used R1 or R2 as the main note button and L1 or L2 as the second one.

That's how I do it, although sometimes I start a song using A until the dual stick triggers start coming, then I switch to the shoulder buttons lol

And I can't be the only one who finds the dual stick triggers a royal pain in the ass >_>

for the life of me I can not hit the dual stick that is up/down but in towards each other. I miss it every time. It's annoying but I know i'll get the hang of it. I think it might specifically be that I keep pushing the left stick up instead of down.

I haven't looked into the menus but I don't believe so. If you aren't sure if you'll like it or not because of that you can download the demo.

I mean I really like the game play concept, I've just gotten super used to the touch controls.

Even trying the button/stick controls on CC (which I got at launch and the special edition of) I never thought the controls were that intuitive and always thought touch was superior

I've been doing A and ZR, or ZL and ZR for hitting notes that are really close together.

i did every song in curtain call on the third difficulty (ultimate?) with touch controls but all it took was one look at a song on supreme difficulty in this to know that i'm not about to fuck with that

button controls are better than i thought, but the double directionals with joycon sticks feel bad and the wavy holds during field songs were way better with a stylus

Could buy it some time down the road, but Ive heard the base game doesnt add that many songs to the game. At least not much relative to the original to Curtain Call.

Yeah, the double stick are taking a little getting used to. I am managing to hit most of the ones I mentioned I was having problems with so I think it's just some practice.

I have found using R2 and L2 work a LOT better for me. It seems easier to hit the sticks too. I'm playing in handheld mode on my switch though. A controller might even feel better.

I get it, and it's a shame. There is so much fun in these games. I noticed they seem to have a "basic mode" that lets you play with a single button. I haven't tried it though. It seems to be separate from the difficulty. So if your problem is there's too many buttons then maybe try the demo in basic mode. I can't imagine the easiest difficulty on basic would be tough.

No shame. You will experience a TON of great music from a series that is known for having great music.

Forgot to mention. I've cleared:
FF1, FF5, FF14, FF Mobius, Fables Chocobo Dungeon, and one other that I can't remember. Currently working my way through FF4, and the one that unlocks after you complete X games that seems to have some of the miscellaneous FF games.

Current party is: Chaos, Exdeath, Chocobo, and Edge. I wanted to try some random people. I've got a few people to 99 already.

I've played and beaten FF1 (PS1 Origins collection? Or the PSP port of it, something on Vita).

I've played FFIV for a couple hours and FFX for an hour.

That's my only real exposure to the Series.

I've put a solid three or four hundred hours into Theatrhythm games lol >_>

Don't need to know the series to enjoy the game play, the art style or the music

I got my first char to 99, but it takes forever to get the xp to get their first Star.

I bought this for my SO because she's still upset about the death of Record Keeper. Found out it's co-op and it's fun!
All the FFRK songs are absolute fire, try them.

I feel like curtain call had more going for it as far as leveling. I liked the idea of starting over at level 1 again and the ability points system they had. It feels boring to get to level 99 quickly and then struggle your way through star levels just to get more stats.

I get that. Originally I wasn't even going to fiddle around with doing all of the quests but I've started to slowly work through them. I made a party that is only there to get treasure chest drops/steal. One of the items you can get is the stat boosting ones which is helping the grind some.

It took me 28 hours or so to beat every "game" on expert. That's not really caring if I complete the quests or not.

I absolutely love this game though.

Looks interesting. How does the gameplay work? Face buttons? Touch screen? Control stick?
