I use the Bane thing as a direct comparison to a lazy version of the same joke in Velma. One is well crafted. The other is absurdly lazy.

I forgot about this topic but

In HQ:
Bane through a series of mishaps is going to hook up with a dommy mommy on Valentines Day. She makes a comment that makes him self conscious about his penis. Through more shenanigans he winds up making himself giant sized and he also gets giant horny. He humps buildings into rubble like some kind of fuck Godzilla.

There's actually way more to this to the point where it's almost like a Seinfeld episode. But you should watch it to see for yourself.

In Velma:
Two cockroaches appear and hump. That's it. That's the entire joke.
It's just so lazy in comparison

I've tried several times to get into that show but it always just seems too edge lord for me, like they just rely on gratuitous murder and shouting FUCK. Should I give it another try or is it just that more?

It really calms down in regard to the violence and kind of the swearing. It begins focusing more on Harley's relationship with Ivy and her henchmen, and what she actually wants for herself.

That's kind of always there as a base, but it grows beyond that too into more clever writing. If you make it to the point where it's more of an ensemble cast and you still don't like it, I'd say it's not for you. It does a lot more once it has multiple characters to play off of. Harley herself is mostly what you're describing but they do definitely broaden her character. Other characters have other styles of humor.
