is your basic room also at the palazzo? honestly if i was staying there multiple nights then definitely upgrade. $125 isnt much to upgrade to a room of that caliber. but palazzo rooms on their own are already super nice, there isn't much reason to pay for the upgrade unless youre trying to impress someone.

EDIT: Yeah for one night just stay in the standard palazzo. It's already nice enough. Spend the $125 on a dinner upgrade

Someone might join me, but not a sure thing. And you'd be surprised how many years I've entertained myself by playing pool.

That said, I'm definitely not sold on it because yes, those points are essentially money. But then I would likely be guaranteed a higher floor which is nice before a long flight out.

how long til you go / how long will you know if the companion is coming?

like if you hold off another few days and the companion says they're coming, then id say do it. you run the risk of losing the upgrade or it being more expensive, but honestly it's not worth it alone and the palazzo rooms themselves are plenty nice

plus youll be in vegas. you wont want to be cooped up in your room shooting pool solo

Trip is in a week and a half. If someone comes, won't know until like a few days before. Thinking about booking as a separate reservation and just canceling to get my money back if I don't want it.

Eh it's the last night, so my plans for the day aren't crazy. Check in at noon, eat some escargot, do a little shopping, dinner at 5:30, and then Penn & Teller at 9. There's a bit of downtime and I don't want to go crazy with the flight the next day. A little pool could be relaxing especially if the weather is shit.

yea id stick with your current reservation regardless. especially now if someone comes with, you'll want to spend a ton of time walking the strip and just fucking around. youll barely me in the room

what you can do too, when youre in the uber on the way to the hotel, check the status of the upgrade room. if it's still available, you might be able to get the upgrade for free. just ask if they have any complimentary upgrades available and you might get it for free or cheaper because it still hasnt sold the day of.
