Did they have enough power? Wouldn't it be super majority vote needed? Also if this is a bipartisan issue. Why didn't Republicans help Democrats deregulate this issue or even when they had a super majority?

The GOP def had a bigger impact on this specific incident but Biden, a democratic president, didnt help a group of blue collar workers get basic employment rights and safety protections when he had a great opportunity to.

our government as a whole is a complete failure when it comes to regulating industry. democrats don't even attempt to portray themselves as a party that cares about that anymore, and republicans never have

If this was purely a Republican problem, left-leaning news outlets would be covering this more extensively. The hush-hush nature of the derailing makes it clear that nobody wants to call attention to this.

I really wish people would stop trying to deflect blame from Biden.

All that matters was that this happaned under his term, his watch and not long after he could have made significant changes in this regard.

So hiding behind the excuse that this wasn't a priority or simply not high on his admittedly massive priority list to rectify ain't a option.

Dark money from Norfolk Southern is the reason there is so much corruption from the top to the bottom in this case. Deregulation, negligence and complete incompetence.

Side note: I actually found a PDF copy of the official Norfolk Southern train operators guide for the Cleveland-Pittsburgh rail network. I posted it on Facebook, but I am unsure about posting it here because it not only contains contact information and phone numbers (that NS don't want you to know about), it also contains a very large watermark saying "For Government Use Only: Do Not Print or Distribute".

I would wager I get banned if I post the link. But I do have that.
