It was always wierd to me that that Adventure 2 was the worst selling 3D Sonic game outside of 06 when it's absolutely the most well known.

that Adventure 2 number isnt right, or its maybe just the sales of the Dreamcast version?

the article for SA2 says

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle also sold more than 100,000 units in the United Kingdom,[76] for a total of over 1,732,186 units sold worldwide for the GameCube. This adds up to a combined total of more than 2,758,666 units sold worldwide for both the Dreamcast and GameCube versions.

I mean its partially because those particular SA2 numbers are outright wrong. Those are the sales numbers for just the Gamecube version in the U.S. and U.K. alone.

Frontiers is absolutely going to become the best-selling 3D Sonic though.

Odd, I've seen those SA2 numbers a lot but have never seen anyone refuse them.

I recently found out that SA2 Battle is actually a major visual downgrade from SA2, and I've been wanting to try and get my hands on it. Never even touched a Dreamcast.

Those Sonic numbers are fascinating. It's like 2-3 million is the limit for a series with a big brand name, dedicated fanbase, and zero quality control.

I feel like it needs to have a couple good games in a row if it wants to get good numbers again. Too many people get burned when they try a new game.

Not quite sure what the general reception to Frontiers was by players, but I liked it a lot, personally.
