I don't see anyone here as vile transphobes or bigots. The vast majority of you are not in any kind of belief that coincides with Rowling, nor not even remotely the worst of the types that I've had to deal with on this subject.

And I'm not remotely in any position to "take away anyone's ally card" over this. I'm a cis het white male. Not my call, ultimately.

I just know what I've seen and what I've heard.

And what I've heard from the trans/GNC people in my life is disappointment and encroaching fear.

And what I've heard from the people arguing about their buying HogLog is excuses. When they could have said nothing and just bought the game.

That's one of my main judgments in these kinds of topics. Not just that people would buy the game, but that people would seek an excuse to buy the game and try to argue that excuse.

So if you want to stop being judged on this, stop posting. Go play your wizard game, if you haven't beaten it and shelved it already.

This isnt really the gotcha that TC seems to think it is.

Those admins are employees and likely have to ban things on the site whether they personally agree with the decision or not.

What they do in their free time is their business and may not align 100% with what the site is doing at the time.

You came into this topic about Hogwarts Legacy on your own accord and responded to others on a message board that is designed for discussions. This idea that you wouldn't place any judgements if others didn't make an "excuse" (when to those they would call it "justification") to buy Hogwarts Legacy, imo, is dishonest. You were clearly looking for responses or you wouldn't be responding to others. You were going to quickly place judgement on others who bought the game regardless of their "excuses" or not.

This is not just a topic about HogLog. This is a topic calling out people who play HogLog.

There are a record breaking number of anti-trans legislation being pushed and we should be on the streets protesting our legislators and elected officials who don't want to consider trans people as valid human beings
Not buying a video game because a transphobe gets a $1 for every copy is the laziest form of protest anyone could do and will enact absolutely no change. When it becomes illegal to get GRS and hormone therapy, I'm sure people will be happy we didn't buy a wizard game instead of demanding change from politicians

If people can't even give up their childish cartoon plumber games for LGBTQ people, then it's not my place to take away ally cards, but they are showing they aren't very committed.
