2 and Future Perfect are... or even just Future Perfect

Which, btw, has some of the best multiplayer maps in any game as well

Never played 1, but yes TS2 and Future Perfect are absolutely worth playing. And FreeRadical were ex Rare devs, so if you played GoldenEye or Perfect Dark you will feel right at home.

And the enemy animations are excellent, matched only by Bioshock 2... matched, not beaten

Just play Future Perfect
1 is basically just Goldeneye multiplayer (even the singleplayer is just bot matches on multiplayer maps)
2 actually has a campaign mode and everything
Future Perfect is just 2 but better

I'm replaying Future perfect now and it's every bit as great as I remember, albeit easier. 2 and FP(3) are a must play for any gamer imo.

1 is kinda iffy though and I never really liked it, it feels like a prototype for what 2 became as it lacks a story mode amd feels limited in scope.

Yes, absolutely. Second Sight is great too.

I really like Free Radical's character animation. It's honestly one of the things I miss most about them.

Did the 2nd one have a plot, or was it just a collection of maps like the first one?

TS2 is better for a hardcore single player challenge. The story on hard mode and trying to platinum all of the arcade events are top tier gaming accomplishments. The multiplayer is great too.

TS3 has the much better multiplayer if you are actually going to play with friends. TS3 also has a meatier story, but I found it to be much easier and less satisfying. Still great though, just in a different way.

Both are 2 of my all time favorite games, and they both have a great map maker, with TS3 vastly improving the map maker.

TS1 btw is pretty alright, but there isn't much reason to play it. It feels very bare bones.

The first game was my favourite for multiplayer, mostly because of the Planet X multiplayer map that was exclusive to the original. Both a large open area and numerous corridors to get lost in, it was fun to play with friends. The map was large enough to cause the system to lag when crowded though.

I've heard Haze is the worst kind of bad (mediocre and boring, not even fun to laugh at)

I really liked timesplitters 2. I spent a ton of time making custom levels with elaborate stories I imagined in my head

The first game is pretty novel but I wouldn't consider it worth playing if you wanted to just play the series. If you wanted to 100% it, it would take awhile. But the game has a lot of charm.

The second game is regarded the best in the series. Its definitely better than the first the story is pretty lacking.

Third game is great and has a fun story.
