X-2 has the best combat in the entire series and aside from a bit of cringe the game was fun all the way through. I don't really think it qualifies.

Anyways on topic every "bad" rpg I can think of is bad.

Unlimited saga terrible game, bought it because it had square on the box but it was basically unplayable trash where almost every design and game play decision was bad.

Magna Carta, pretty graphics and I can give them credit for trying something different with combat but it was unplayable. I could not handle the combat. I never got past the first zone that is how bad it was.

These are the worst rpgs I've personally played. 2 were from when I was a kid and the other was me watching the death of a developer. I wouldn't consider any redeeming qualities to these games.

Anyways "so bad it's good" is of course subjective and there are people who play bad games for the laughs the reality is most games that are bad are because of design flaws which are difficult to enjoy playing through. It's not like a movie where you can laugh at unintentionally silly dialogue or ridiculous scenarios.

You can google lists of bad rpgs, but most of them are games I haven't played so can't comment on or games I disagree with.

As much as I love Oblivion that game is pretty stupid and hilarious most of the time.

I mean other than the story being what it is, I really enjoyed FFX-2. Fun battle system, fun characters, fun side content. The game is just fun.

FF8. People know it is bad, but that is part of its charm.

Yeah honestly I can't really think of any RPGs that are "so bad they're good". RPGs are either bad or good.

Mystic Quest... ... Undertale is good good

I mean stuff like Two Worlds, and Too Human (which is sadly gone forever). I also rather enjoyed Progress Quest.

I think the bad parts come from the game being super unfinished and after the climax of disc one, the story drops off a cliff untill halfway through disc 2 and climbs back up only to jump off at the end again.

I remember hating how many party members there were but you could only use 1/3rd of them in the actual game and the others were relegated to story event dungeons where they were just background dressing making it pointless to equip them with gear or for them to exist.

The controls were dogshit and there was wayyyyyy too much running around and the one mount you get takes up 2 of the 3 party active member slots.
