Its not puzzling.

High inflation => Spend more now because things will cost more if you wait
0 inflation => Don't spend now, when we can get it later at no extra cost
Thats why 2% is the target, it keeps spending balanced.

And Americans are known spenders with no concept of balancing their own budgets. So the yield in spending for any bit of inflation is going to be high for americans.

I would also like to say:

Lots of people have money in their pockets to spend, thanks to strong job growth and rising wages. Retirees also got a raise this year. Social Security benefits rose by 8.7% in January, the largest cost-of-living increase in four decades.

I said this exact same thing a few weeks ago and all the far left extremists came out with no real argument other than trying to troll me.
