Taking bets on whether we'd be coming back to campus after spring break was over.

My friend who goes to Yale came back instate to meet friends. I think Yale was first or one of the first to shut down campus and she got the message in the car with us.

Had just recently got back into the dating game and was on a date at Korean BBQ the night before lock down. What bad time it was to start into that.

I was in a meeting at work and they told us to go home that Friday the 13th around 1 or 2pm. Weird watching a bunch of boomers haul ass to their cars in the parking lot. And then it feeling like Mad Max on the road with everyone freaking out

I was looking forward to starting a new job at a community college as the IT manager. It seemed like a really easy gig, which was perfect because I was also halfway through my first semester as a business major and didn't want to overload myself.

I started the job on the 2nd, and then the campus closed on the 16th. We went remote and I had the busiest 6 months of work I've ever had.

Fiance just broke up with me, she couldnt find a place to move because of the lockdowns and I had to spend the summer living with her. Was really fucking pleased about that.

Work. Waiting in line to find out how many supermarket shelves were empty. (Must have felt a bit like living in the old USSR.)

Well, at least we can all say we lived through a truly global historic event. Something to tell the grandkids.

I was at a bar with coworkers celebrating St. Patrick's Day. The bar kicked everyone out at midnight (24/7 bar) since all nonessential businesses were getting shut down for 30 days.

As a teacher at the time, we weren't prepared for distance learning so we would just go on a website every morning to clock in and then clock out at the end of the day. We didn't work at all from March-August and still got paid (June/July were summer vacation months anyway).

Is this a reference to the pandemic? Because I think you mean the 13th. Ill never forget it because it was a Friday lol. I got to work (a grocery store) and saw there was a massive amount of people waiting outside before we even opened.

So weird that the country collectively decided ok, now were gonna start freaking out about the pandemic on this specific day

It was March 17th here in Nevada that they decided to shut everything down, including all casinos like the one I work at. I was already in a sour mood because my stepdad died the night before. It was lifeless that night, St. Patrick's Day and nobody cared. Then the next morning we had a full employee meeting telling 90% of the staff they would have to go on unemployment while we were shut down. Not me though, since the hotel was still open they needed one night housekeeper. I did pretty much nothing, but I still got my regular 40 hour check and didn't have to deal with the employment office.

Spouse was getting their top surgery done, so was mainly helping with taking care of them & the household. Was lucky it got scheduled for when it did, because for some time afterward it would have been difficult to schedule.
