Iamdepressed 03/04/23 4:54:29 PM #1:	Crossing the threshold into my mid thirties, I'm starting to realize that my tolerance for people's behavior has significantly lowered. I won't hesitate to cut off ties and move on, if I believe the newly formed relationship (acquaintance) is a hindrance to my mental health. Which is surprising to me, because a few years ago, I would have been that guy trying to please everybody in anyway I can. For example, there's a social group in my class I've recently been accepted in. Thinking that I made new friends, I was excited to share my interests, values and goals, only to be disappointed that the only common interest they share is the penchant to gossip. Mind you, I'm nothing like that and I've put that part of me behind several years ago. So on a whim, I cut all contact with that group. I stopped responding to messages and my interactions in class have been extremely surface level. Were my actions justified? As I get older, I'm realizing my time is extremely valuable and wasting energy on people that I deem no value is only going to give me diminishing returns. This type of mentality has made me alone, but as a result, I have been more productive lately. I'm able to expend my concentration on new projects without spending 10% of my thought process worrying why Joe decided to call Cindy the B word? I put in my 2 weeks notice after a month in. Between the customers acting like Karen's, and a coworker who lost her damn mind... I was like, I really do not need this shit after clocking out my main job.
