It's suddenly running much, much slower and some general features (most notably scrolling via trackpad) are either inconsistent or not working at all.

It was a gigantic update (took like 15-30 minutes; they usually take like 2 minutes tops). Scanned for viruses and malware with both McAfee and Malwarebytes (the latter of which I downloaded specifically to double check with) and nothing came up on either, and my hard drive space is absolutely fine, so I'm pretty convinced that this update did it. Anybody else have this happen recently?

Is your computer a little older? Windows updates are notorious for pushing computers over the edge and causing these type of problems.

I've had my laptop semi-bricked by a Windows update, yeah.

Been having issues since an 11 update yesterday too.
One program just uninstalled itself, some take minutes to open, have to delete programdata to get others to launch, lost audio output for a while, had to disable auto HDR because if something used it but wasn't focused the monitor was just black, Chrome tabs crashed due to lack of memory which I haven't encountered before, random fps drops, and probably some more issues I'm forgetting.

On the other hand the new window organization feature is kinda neat.

It's Windows 11 and it's a year old this month.

Ah crap, mine literally has this update queued and is just waiting a restart right now. I've never had to revert an update before, is it easy to do? I assume not if you're making this topic.

I see that the don't even make it easy to stop windows updates now. Seems you have to do it through the run command.

EDIT: Nevermind, seems to be easy to revert in the update history since there's uninstall options. Have you tried that?

EDIT2: Mine is also taking forever to do the update. So I may be in the same boat as you once it's done.

When windows does a major update it usually keeps a backup of the old update for a month before deleting it. It gets stored in a folder called windows.old.

You can rollback updates. Do that and see if the issue is resolved.

I uninstalled the most recent updates and so far it seems to be running a tad better but still not nearly 100% and still to the point where it's really annoying.

There was a small update this morning and things seem to be working much better now. Still a couple of annoyances but worlds better than it was when I made this topic.
