Don't know how many Budokai Tenkaichi fans we have here, but neat, and not something I was ever expecting to get. I mean they have bunch more new characters to cram in now though.

Oh damn I played the shit of Budokai Tenkaichi back in the day but I do agree this is a little weird. Xenoverse isn't quite the same but it did kinda fill the hole that Tenkaichi left.

The combat in Tenkaichi hasn't aged particularly well so I wonder what they can do to make it interesting in 2023.

I like the free combat of Xenoverse, but couldn't get into the whole....vibe of the game. I won't say no to another 3D competitive DBZ fighter...you'd think we get a lot of those for anime nowadays, but arena fighters really aren't the same thing at all.

also honestly i don't care if they'd have to make it a gacha or something to make it feasible now, i just really hope it gets a roster size in line with what the previous BT games had

I played a lot of 2 and 3 back in the day but I tried playing 3 again recently, couldn't at all get into it.

And with this likely cramming in tons of Super or w/e other content that I'm frankly not at all interested in, I'll take a pass. Seems cool for the people who are into it though.

I hate all this Super stuff, but if it feels solid enough I'm willing to overlook it.

Super introduced some decent characters at least even if the writing is bad in spots.

Imagine the roster........WOW! BT was willing to put "irrelevancies" like Pilaf and grunt#999 and Fasha and Kings Vegeta and Cold.

Imagine......all the Pride Troopers, KATOPELSA and others. They can actually justify it this time.

That was a PS2 game though, back when they just tossed everything they wanted into a game, and DLC didn't exist.

Nowadays I wouldn't be surprised if this game launches with sub 20, honestly.

Considering these games don't typically count transformations as different characters, probably 5-10.

Since BT 2 and 3 brought back everyone from the previous games, I wonder if that will continue here. I'm thinking probably not because they'll need to make a bunch of room for Super characters. Adding characters like Beerus, Goku Black, Jiren and New Broly are a much higher priority than bringing back old movie minions or minor characters from OG Dragon Ball.

I hope the What If? scenarios return. The ones with Raditz turning good after hitting his head like Goku did and Zarbon betraying Frieza to use the Dragon Balls himself in BT2 were great.

If more licensed fighting games from the early-mid 2000s are going to come back after this, I'm crossing my fingers for Digimon Rumble Arena 3, X-Men Mutant Academy 3 and Shrek Super Slam 2.

BT3 on Wii lowkey had one of the best uses of the wiimote

They actually basically did a Mutant Academy 3, but it was called X-Men Next Dimension (because they added some 3D movement, hence "next dimension")
