i'm very very against any two-state solution, but i'm warming up to trading texas (edit: and only texas!) for a complete ban on republicanism in the 49 states. i'd even be willing to subsidize the moving costs for anyone who wants to leave with them, so long as we also make sure everyone in texas who wants out gets out first.

That is such a dubiously worded statement. Its basically saying We would vote on the idea of suceeding from the union but draw up plans later. Its a way to rile up the base without ever having to actually do anything.Its the bill equivalent of doing an announcement trailer for a trailer.

I was reading about some of the scenarios if this ever were to happen. One is Mexico invades it to take it back or the cartels come and just fuck this new country up beyond recognition. US could also declare war on it for the oil after declaring it a terrorist state.
