0.99999~ isn't quite a real number, but "imaginary" number is already taken. It's closer to a "bullshit number", that only happens due to quirks of a basic mathematical operation.

It is a real number, and in fact it is an integer. It is just an alternative way to represent 1. It seems unintuitive because infinite series are inherently unintuitive.
