Blonde was not nominated for best picture.

Tom Hanks really was dreadful in Elvis.

That movie gave me shell-shock, I didn't really understand just how terrible it was until days later.

That did make me curious because sometimes movies are nominated for both Oscars and Razzies (this year, Elvis was nominated for Worst Supporting Actor & Worst Screen Combo, while Blonde was nominated Best Actress and Worst a lot of stuff)

Rocky IV got nominated for and won a LOT of stuff

Ana de Armas is on the Best Actress docket.

Which is fine because AFAIK she made the most of being in a terrible tribute movie. If she wins, however, people will find fault with it because of the crap script, regardless of her actual performance. (Note I haven't seen that movie because of the reviews, lol.)

She cries alot and gets naked alot, which is usually enough for an Oscar nom. I don't think she deserved the nom though, because she never got rid of her Cuban accent, despite her saying she tried alot, and the director even saying they had to fix it in sound mixing post-production. She sounds so Cuban the entire movie that it breaks some of the immersion.

Which is why I was baffled by her being cast, even though she's attractive. Sure, she plays opposite personalities in Knives Out and No Time to Die - and I love her in those - but she definitely sounds Cuban in both. It can be hard to shake your accent entirely; relatedly, I'm sure Daniel Craig gave her pointers... but he has a very weird accent as Benoit Blanc and I think that's largely due to him being British. He wasn't able to shun it entirely, either.
