EEAAO was one of the most popular movies of the year before it won a bunch of awards.

And so the movie is absurd, wacky, and random.

It's just... it really is that kind of humor. You can try to elevate it by saying that the movie justifies it, but that doesn't change the DNA of what it is.

Did anyone else think the dad had the charm of a young Jackie Chan? I know Jackie Chan is used in rascist jokes. But this time I feel it actually applies and is a legitimate compliment.

The directors said that they originally had Jackie Chan in mind for the main lead, until eventually they rewrote the script for Michelle Yeoh when Jackie Chan turned down the film. I honestly think it was for the better because Ke Huy Quan was amazing in this film.

I like Jamie, but that is just an immediate turn off about seeing her movie.

I heard this movie was conceived in 2010. Then I read the plot summary and it just sounds like a less coherent version of Scott Pilgrim Versus The World, and I opted to watch that instead.

Scott Pilgrim should have won an oscar.

Those are two of the reasons I'm not ever gonna watch it.

I cried so many times watching this movie. It's a rollercoaster of emotions.

Give it another chance TC. The beginning is super slow and I was wondering what the hell, but stuck with it. One of the best movies of last year.

It's a meme movie that I'm not interested in. I'm not saying you aren't allowed to love it. If it's your favorite movie of all time, that's cool, I'm happy for you.

But I'm not gonna watch it, because it doesn't appeal to me.

I wanted to check it out but Jamie Lee Curtis having a "Feud" with Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness just immediately turned me away from ever watching the movie.

For weeks she'd throw little jabs at Multiverse of Madness, saying how her movie is the better Multiverse movie and how people should go see it instead.

I like Jamie, but that is just an immediate turn off about seeing her movie.

I mean to be fair Dr Strange 2 was a mess of a film that was only saved by the Sam Raimi'isms.

I thought it was pretty enjoyable. Raimi carried it a lot with his style, for sure. The visuals were great, especially for Zombie Strange.

The story...was what it was. MCU standard mumbo jumbo and macguffin stuff. I did like how the conflict resolved, even if it was pretty cliche.

Middle of the road MCU movie. I don't expect amazing stuff when I watch comic book movies. That's why movies like The Dark Knight, Logan, Days of Future Past, Infinity War, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Zack Snyder's Justice League really stood out for me. They each hit the tone just right, in my opinion.
