How many of the Top 10 most acclaimed films of 2022 have you seen?

There are many ways to determine the "most acclaimed" films of 2022. I stuck to a mathematical method. I used the most popular film website, and used a number of filters. After limiting the number of votes multiple times, I ended up at about 25,000 to feel like it was a reasonable value for any self-respecting film fanatic. I tried 5,000, then 10,000, and it kept leading to what would be considered obscurity by most standards, especially on a non-film message board.

The first list is purely all films 25,000 votes and higher. These are the highest rated films in that criteria.

1. 777 Charlie (2022)
2. Rocketry: The Nambi Effect (2022)
3. The Kashmir Files (2022)
4. Sita Ramam (2022)
5. What Is a Woman? (2022)
6. Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
7. Kantara (2022)
8. Vikram (2022)
9. K.G.F: Chapter 2 (2022)
10. Drishyam 2 (2022)

The second list is all films 25,000 votes and higher, restricting it to just films from the USA, as that is more likely to be known here. These are the highest rated films in that criteria.

1. What Is a Woman? (2022)
2. Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
3. Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts (2022)
4. Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
5. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
6. The Whale (2022)
7. Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
8. All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)
9. The Batman (2022)
10. The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)

The 3rd list is nearly the same as the 2nd, but it excludes documentaries and TV films. These are the highest rated films in that criteria.

1. Top Gun: Maverick (2022)
2. Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022)
3. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
4. The Whale (2022)
5. Avatar: The Way of Water (2022)
6. All Quiet on the Western Front (2022)
7. The Batman (2022)
8. The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)
9. Aftersun (2022)
10. The Fabelmans (2022)

After researching that all, I consider the Top 10 to be 20 films in total.

How many of these 20 films have you seen?

I mean yeah its a pretty damning indictment of IMDB that this list includes one film that is literally Hindu nationalist propaganda which was used to incite hatred against Muslims and another that is literally transphobic propaganda. Neither of these were especially well regarded, just had their ratings pumped up by bots for political reasons. Online ratings sites are totally worthless these days thanks to brigading. The only good one is RT verified ratings because they actually check that youve seen the film.

Yes.

Over the last several years, IMDb has had a huge surge of Indian traffic. So much that they created an entirely different Top 250, separate from their iconic regular list, composed entirely of Indian films. It's hard to get accurate metrics, which is why I expanded this list to 20 even though I said 10. I wanted to be fully transparent, and didn't feel like I should cheat film fans who wanted to see a pure list either.

Wow that first list is trash. Just for having Matt Walsh's anti-trans propaganda alone.

Haven't seen any, the movie industry has been creatively and intellectually bankrupt for years. Pretty much killed my interest in new movies. I think I've only watched two 2022 movies thus far, which both were Korean. Korea still makes decent stuff...
