No, part of the reason Velma got shit on is that it drastically changes established characters which attracted attention. I Am Starfire is just a what if story about her daughter.

I Am Not Starfire makes no sense. I have not actually read it so I don't know if they confirm her father is Dick Grayson, but her mom is Starfire, and there is no way Starfire's daughter would look like that. Her genetics would make that impossible

Pretty sure metabolism doesn't work like that. Plenty of athletes have kids that can never measure up to their parents.

Undoubtedly, given the comic seemed to get similar levels of hate that Velma did just for existing.

And comic fans are way worse than like, Scooby doo fans. Scooby Doo has had so many reboots and shit it doesn't usually lead to much issue when a character changes (see: Fred changes basically every iteration), Velma just wasn't very good on top of that. Also cutting the dog out is like "wtf is that". Velma is really obviously a completely unrelated show that got a Scooby Doo coat of paint because some studio exec thought it would sell better.

I am not star fire was directed at a different audience than typical comic readers. And to many of them, that sin is unforgivable.

Ignoring a blatant self insert by suggesting 'sexism' is weak even by CE shitposting standards.

The only similarity is that they have black hair and are overweight. They have different colored eyes, the character is much heavier, and I don't see any freckles on the author. I am on my phone though.
