https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/2/6/3/AAOL8-AAETNf.jpg Tried to get it to perch on my arm and it let me get as close as a foot (I was wearing a leather jacket over a hoodie and had my hand tucked up in the sleeve, so I wasn't going to be scratched/bitten up), but then it flew off, first to the ground, then into a tree. Never seen an owl in person in the wild before. Only in sanctuaries or zoos. That was fucking awesome and unexpected. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Even when I hoped I could get it to land on me, it didn't fly far away. It stayed nearby and watched me. I left respectfully. A few other pedestrians walked by and ignored it entirely. That was disrespectful. I made eye contact, I stayed low. I know it didn't appreciate the camera flashes but I had to take pics. I wanted to earn enough trust to get it to chill on my arm and I got within a foot. Didn't happen, but I didn't scare it off. It just tried to keep a fair distance from me as an observer as I did when I was taking pics. The fence lines a sidewalk along one of the busiest streets in my area too so there were other pedestrians and there were cars constantly going by both ways. Owl didn't give a fuck about any of that shit. ... Copied to Clipboard!

If it was going to fuck me up, it would have started with my arm. If it stepped onto my arm and was okay perching on it, it likely would have left my face alone.
