I don't know anyone who has gotten Covid.

One coworker personally, they had it all last week and still feel like crap this week. My mom's pissed off at her friend for coming to their water aerobics group a day after she and her family traveled through 3 airports - turns out she got COVID along with her husband and kid, and they all talked shit about booster shots. My mom's overreacting a bit, but her friend/her family are definitely morons, so they should expect an earful.

No, but strep throat is really bad at the school I teach at right now. Like 10% of the students are out sick right now.

I know a guy who has refused everything and still not gotten sick.

Yeah. My brother got it again a couple of week ago. It's passed now.

A friend of mine had it within the last month but outside of the initial few days he was generally fine.

My parents got it a month or so ago. They're both vaxxed, and took meds for it, so they basically had a bad cold for a week.

Brother has it now, dad had it a couple weeks ago... So yes...

My 72 year old dad has it right now, but he's doing well.

Yes. One of my prior coworkers. My boyfriend is in office this week and they got notice of two exposures from being in office.

I had a few coworkers get in like 2-3 months ago, they caught it fast enough where they took time off and it didn't spread

Did she know she had covid? If not then I'm not sure why that's a problem

I've been really sick this week but tested negative for covid

Idk anyone who had copied recently. I know two people who died of covid last year though. A coworker I've been teammates with for 8 years and my god daughter's baby daddy

Me, possibly.

Woke up yesterday with a slight scratchy throat and mild cough. The cough got worse as the day went on, and somewhere around 8pm or so I got hit out of nowhere with violent shivers, a fever, and sudden fatigue. Went to bed around 10pm to try and sleep for a bit - I basically slept sitting up in bed huffing Vicks vapor rub (the only way I could stop coughing) and with a space heater pointed directly at my body (the only way I could stop shivering). Kind of curled into a fetal ball sitting up to retain warmth under two blankets.

It's currently 1am and I just woke up and feel like I can't really go back to sleep just yet. And apparently while sleeping I've started to develop a bit of nausea (which might just be from post nasal drip on an empty stomach), and a headache. And pretty much everything else aches as well, but that might just be from being old. And I think I might have lost my sense of taste (I tried to drink some Coke, but I can't tell if my taste is gone or the soda is just flat).

This isn't what colds feel like to me at all, so it's either Covid or a regular flu. A friend of mine is coming over tomorrow morning to drop off a testing kit so I can see what it shows, but I feel like at this point Covid is the more statistically likely option.


If I die in the next few days, I bequeath my cynicism to my son Shadow. And my mummified penis to Sarcasthma. Use them well.

I wasn't super clear, but she commented at the pool that she 'wasn't feeling that great'. day after getting off the plane. my mom is overreacting for sure, she can be quite a bit of a hypocrite.

No. My sister is a doctor at a local, large hospital and she said, last time I asked, that they have had no cases in hospital. She said what was bad is that everyone admitted early in the pandemic died.

That being said, we had a very close friend to die of it last year. He was unvaccinated and so stubborn that he didn't tell anyone he was ill until the night before he died at home. I was told his last words were," I can't believe this is happening."

Are you swabbing just your nose, or also your throat? The directions for most rapid test kits will only say to do your nose, but if you use the same swab for your throat first (get right back to the edge of the soft palette, avoiding your tongue, you'll probably gag if you do it right) before going mining for boogers, it fairly substantially decreases the false negative rate. It's still not perfect, and tests often won't return a positive until ~3 days after infection (even with symptoms), but it can help.
