It's well-warranted pedantry. "We don't use pronouns" is a blatant dog whistle that actually means "we are transphobic as a categorical matter of policy." The people for whom the whistle is blown don't really care either way because they're also a bunch of transphobic dingleknobbers, but this is a case where I consider it important to hold people accountable for saying what they mean.

I was actually waiting for someone to post that Simpson clip before I said anything.
