In the sense that they're a lot more dangerous and harmful than their owners say they are because "I've never had an issue"?

Yes.

I said that people that buy trucks and don't use them for their intended purpose buy them more as a status symbol than anything else.

Which can be said about a lot of automobiles, which is the response you were quoting when you said I was making wild assumptions.

But judging by other people's responses, and not just mine, the non-hauling pickup driver stereotype exists for a reason. Same reason there's a stereotype surrounding older men driving sports cars.

Most stereotypes are based in reality.
Which is all still an assumption no matter how you dress it and put it in a bow.

You claimed in this topic people buy trucks to look manly. That is an ignorant assumption.

Pointing to a stereotype doesn't make your ignorant assumptions fact. Nor does pointing to one make it reality.

Trucks are smooth to drive, can haul/tow whatever you need, and look cool.

Idk what more you want from me.

You say it's a joke, and yet you are adamant to defend the joke to argue you were right.

But right, definitely a "joke."

I mean, read through the thread. The joke is being made a dozen times.

I just happen to post statistics to show the joke has some truth to it.

No, it's dumbasses who think "four wheel drive" means "drive fast as hell in a blizzard" causing the pileups.

Even with 4-wheel drive, a car (with weight over all four wheels) will handle better than a truck with nothing in it's bed.

Same with electronic aids like stability control.

A truck only outperforms a car if you compare apples to oranges. IE: a truck with all the bells and whistles against a car with none.

Sure you can. If you have one with stow aways seating, you can 100% get a fridge in there. I've done it.

Yes, can you move a 10 foot basketball hoop in a minivan? Of course not.

But like I said before 80% of pickup owners don't even use the truck bed. The ones that own a pickup and use it like a pickup aren't the ones in here defending them. They know what they have nad why the have them.

If your SUV can fit a regular sized fridge (which is not advisable, it's best to transport them standing), then it probably uses just as much gas as a pickup truck.

I've lost count of the number of times people have overestimated the size of their SUV's storage space. They always end up having to call a friend with a truck, or renting one from Home Depot or U-Haul.

Weird because I drove a truck once and it was awful. You can't see shit and it turns like a tugboat. Is that what you mean by cars feeling like toys? They can actually maneuver?
