Had a weird conversation on the Gamefaqs politics board about this earlier and for some reason people were hating on me because I thought we should feel sad.

The sadness usually turns to anger and then the anger turns into nothingness because you become desensitized

Not really. There's so much shit going on in the world on a regular basis that feeling real emotion about it all would be impossible.

It's undeniably sad as fuck. But we're at the point where the saddest part is how it happens so often a lot of us are becoming desensitized to the news. We expect it, therefore we're emotionally prepared to not let it get to us anymore. Obviously, it depends how close to home it is for you personally and all that

Every year we hit 100 mass shootings earlier and earlier.

I find it really weird a lot of the people who care about unborn babies being aborted and its life above all else dont seem to include guns in that list.

"You are supposed to have this specific emotional response" is only useful in marketing.

No, this topic is a complete opposite of that one.

I will say, getting mad at TC would just come off as feeling guilty that you don't feel sad for it though. Not understanding how someone could get sad is a whole other level of narcissism. "I can't get sad anymore. So, everyone who still can is weird."

Especially before even inquiring about why he feels sad. Just defaulting to being sad is being weird.

That's not true at all as it's an important part of psychology.

Im scared because of how absurd and sadistic events could be coming from a virus and which I call it the greed is good virus. So long as greed is considered good there will be sadistic behavior.

I was pretty forceful on my position that people should feel sad but I made sure they didn't need to feel like a depressed wreck just the tiniest bit sad.

Oh. You should be more understanding then. There's shit you're probably desensitized to or don't care to unpack the depressing reality of that are very meaningful to others. It's impossible to not step on the toes of others trauma. Unless you just go through all life not talking openly.

I'm pretty desensitized to school shootings but I still feel empathy every time they happen. I don't think I want to understand feeling nothing at all.

There's levels of emotions between sad and nothing. I feel disappointed that it's not something we put all resources towards figuring out and helping. Disappointed in our country and our priorities

Its a problem but no ones doing anything to fix it. Like the loss of life should cause immediate legal changes. It does not. Its hard to care knowing nothing will change to prevent the problem in the future. Just cross your fingers....
