Yeah but now it would be 1000x worse. You can't release a game with a dudebro cop going to Africa and killing everyone, even if they are zombies. You shouldn't and the premise is fucking terrible.

Capcom has no ideas and no problems with cutting things out.
It'd be so easy to rework the game to be another linear jog through some towns, subterra and a facility.
Doesn't have to be the same game by any means, just has to be lazy and have the RE5 name.

They only way it would work is if they changed the location to South Africa or Egypt. That way you're not exclusively a white man killing a bunch of black people.

Aside of the obvious, I just don't see the point in remaking anything after RE4.

If anything, just do RE1 again and Code Veronica.

As long as they take out the really overt stuff like the literal spear chucking enemies, only a few vocal people will care about the race issues.

The biggest problem the game has is that it is a co-op game. Being stuck with a crappy AI partner for single player will not likely not cut it nowadays. The whole game will have to be reworked to make it more single player oriented.

I just want a remake of Dino Crisis.

Could you go in depths of why is it racist when its black people vs white in RE4? Youre killing them cause zombies, not cause the protags are white supremacists.

That isn't enough in my opinion. The optics are terrible to have a literal white dudebro cop go to Africa to shoot up a bunch of black people. If they had made a black protagonist it would be different but they didn't.

The game's plot does not revolve around Alfred being a crossdresser . They can allude to Alexandria being alive without all the Alfred stuff.

RE4's zombies were white people, more specifically western Europeans.

In theory, Code Veronica X and then 0 need to be remade to complete the remakes. 5 and 6 are relatively "modern" and both are so problematic that remaking them would be more of making two brand new games.

It's likely we get the Village sequel next, then CVX or 0.

Re-contextualize the entire story and lean more towards the real life morally reprehensible things pharmaceutical companies have done in Africa. Add in themes against modern day colonialism. Feature Sheva more heavily in the game's central conflict and have Chris lean towards her expertise... throw in a scene at the beginning of Chris being given orders to try to keep impact on the locals to a minimum while upholding his duty to clean up the mess the western world created in the region because that is what he was trained for. Etc

Get rid of the tribal garb and headdresses and that's it

90% of the enemies you kill in RE5 are black, and you do it immediately when you start the game.

90% of the enemies you kill in RE4 are white, and you don't kill anyone else until late in the game apparently.

They should have been done this one

they should definitely retool the campaign to play as Sheva and just meet up here and there with your other contacts like Chris and Josh, or save the AI parts for certain chapters and boss fights

The whole racist thing was overblown at the time. It sold really well back then and would do so again now.

It was culturally insensitive, and they should probably tone that down, but even if they dont it will still sell well.
