a lot of us have been suspended, and I've never really seen anyone hold it against someone else, unless if they had some kind of beef/the person who was suspended was generally seen as toxic.

Absolute and utter shame. The last time I was warned, I couldn't hold it together, I couldn't even look my wife in the eye. She asked what was wrong, and I just cried, for two days straight, with my face in my hands. I finally mustered up the courage to tell her what had happened, and i'll never forget the look on her face, and what I did to my family. I try really hard to be a good poster on gamefaqs, and i'm tremendously disappointed when I let the moderation staff down, and the users that had to endure my pathetic post. After hours of therapy, I find it in myself to face my peers again, knowing i'm being disrespected and looked down on, I can only hope I can rebuild my reputation and return to being a valued member of this community and looked on with great respect. I understand if i'm not forgiven, and that's a decision I have to accept.

I mean more of a feeling agaisnt the website, not whatever user you were talking to.

You're being told you were wrong and they don't want you posting. So don't you feel weird about returning as if nothing after that?

if you enjoy posting here, then you should continue, IMO.

sometimes the mods/admins might not even necessarily want to suspend you, but they have their roles, and being suspended means you still have another chance.

I was modded on reddit, my message was erased cause I said "idiotic'.

I felt like I'd been spanked. I don't wanna post there ever again.

I guess it's because I've only been suspended a few times for stupid stuff, and I admit they were all my fault, lol.

one of them was for a "sig wipe", where I had an image with a curse word before the rules for cursing were changed (it wasn't offensive, though).

and the other was for posting a lion having sex, and it having an "o face" (none of their junk was shown).

I might have been suspended for other stuff, but those are the only cases I remember.

It's not humiliating. Sometimes I think the "punishment" doesn't match the offense but I do at least understand the problem, when they bother to tell me. I don't believe I've ever been moderated for the same kind of thing like some users, nor do I deliberately break the ToS. It just happens sometimes, you think your post is fine but the mods don't agree. I don't post racism or anything like that so I don't consider it shameful that I got suspended. My first ever moderation was about being too sexually explicit I think and the pattern has remained where I'm just a little too extra with what I post. Keep in mind you CAN talk about sex here and other stuff. But you know, you can't go balls deep with it, you have to learn how to tip the line. Just the tip. I don't plan on stopping either, even if I get banned.

As for how I return? I just do. It's a suspension, not a ban. It's like being put in the corner or sent to the principal's office. You're allowed to keep posting after, it's the ban evaders that are the real issue. I don't plan on returning once I inevitably get banned but it's not because I would've learned anything, I just can't be bothered.

Besides the boards are dying, especially since they keep eliminating users. Maybe I'll go to Twitter and get cancelled.

NOt sure if it was the time i misread a username incorrectly, and wrote it the way i read it, and got in trouble that way.... or if its the time i got hit on for quoting a Teamfourstar joke.

It's nothing to be ashamed of, because it's just a period of time you can't post on GameFAQs for violating one or more rules too many times. It couldn't matter less, and you can just find another waste of time somewhere else.

Now, using some kind of alt account shenanigans to break simple rules and avoid that punishment in order to continue breaking simple rules on the other hand, is something shameful.

Good. That's how you SHOULD feel. I mean think about what a moderation really is. Some unpaid volunteer slapping you on the wrist and wagging their finger at the naughty user. It shouldn't have to come to that point ever. So you're either well intentioned but moderated for some nonsense, in which case it's not really your problem. Or you're a bad user and you have no shame anyway.

I was once or twice, it wasnt humiliating because 99% of what I post isnt serious and it triggered someone into marking me, as for others I cant even tell who is who anyway theres so many alts

I don't see why it would be humiliating.

It's a message board, the suspension lasts an X amount of days, and you can have alts.

Even if you got permanent banned, I don't see why you'd feel humiliation.

I'd be more curious to why so someone would get embarrassed over it.

Its OK. A month or more in Purgatory is a reminder to visit the world outside from time to time. Its a healthy break but nobody will hire me in CE anymore as an ex-Purgatory user so it can sometimes be hard to make ends meet.

It's a message board. There's really not much reason to care what I or anyone here thinks of you.

Also getting suspended doesn't necessarily mean you did something to be humiliated about. As just like discussions on this board with other users, a mod can also completely misconstrued your post to say something you didn't say.

At the end of the day, it is what it is. It really isn't that deep for me if I get suspended, modded, or warned.

I don't go out of my way to get modded so at worse, I'd get annoyed for like a minute then move on.
