Once a month for the past four or five years, I have received the same package from Amazon. It is addressed directly to me, and it has my exact address on it. This is especially odd because I moved four years ago, didn't update my Amazon address... and it followed me. My mom's Amazon account does have my updated address, but she has told me for years that she isn't getting charged for any package, that there is no record of any package, and that she's never ordered any package of this kind to my address in any case. My account also has no records, not that it matters, since it has no credit card attached, and I am never charged.

You might be wondering what is in the package. It's the same thing ever time: a box of eight dog food containers.

None of us can make sense of what's happening. Can anyone explain?

Have you been giving or donating the food to people who have pet dogs? Or do you own a dog yourself? I cant imagine a wrong address situation or an unusual prank since you said this has been going on for four years.

It sounds like some sort of subscription, but beyond that, I've got nothing.

Only one thing left to do, sell them on Amazon.

Brushing scams.

From the article:
Is it Illegal to Open an Amazon Package I Did Not Order?
No. If it has your name and address on it, the amazon Package is yours to keep. Feel free to open it, burn it, or feed it to the dog.

Sounds like that is exactly your case.

There's not some sort of unusual monthly charge on any accounts you or your family have? Maybe someone accidentally signed up for a subscription that is just continuously running. That happened to me once with issues of Entertainment Weekly.

Or maybe someone is pranking you. Like, instead of sending a dozen pizzas to someone's address the new fad is to send... dog food.

My first thought was a brushing scam. I've gotten two packages that way, though neither was useful. One was child sized clothes I keep forgetting to give to Goodwill and the other was Michael Bay era Transformers Funko Pop

my mom got one of those once too. It was just some junk, I dont even remember what the actual item was

but it seems weird for one of those scams to be sending out something monthly for years like this.

If it's like clockwork for 5 years, it's definitely a subscription that someone accidentally left running. No advertiser is going to do that just to scam reviews. Have you even tried asking support about it? They could likely cancel it immediately.

But you can also just donate the food.

Go to your Amazon subscriptions and check if you accidentally subscribed. A scammer wouldnt be sending you the same thing every month for literal years.

Is there any information on the receipt or packing slip about what name the order is under? Any seller contact info you could reach out to?
