They could have expanded the world with an HBO Max series. It could go into great discussions with good robot vs bad robot with the new partnership with humans. They really should have left Neo and Trinity out of it. The really dumb meta jokes just.ugh

I didnt even finish the movie. I got halfway through, got tired, said Id come back to jt tomorrow and never did.

the matrix as a whole was pretty bad at the end of the day

The first two were great. The 3rd had moments. The animatrix was also pretty good. She should just let other people create things in that universe

It was Warner Bros that wanted to make a Matrix part 4. They were gonna do it with or without the Wachowskis.

The movie literally spells this out. Personally I'm glad one of them decided to do it, even if the meta stuff was much better than the actual story.

Actually I'm not that big a fan of the first, but my god the second was bad.

I'm pretty sure the scene where they were talking about it like it was a video game and how they were going to make another one with or without the original developers happened IRL

It was to retcon all the stuff made up long after the original trilogy ended.
