Like in the real world? White mage. Heal as many people as I have mana. Remove all cancer and shit like that.

If you mean in some sort of generic final fantasy world with chocobos and slimes and magic and evil villains needing defeating, Time Mage of those listed. That would be so OP in any team combat. Haste, slow, freeze time, go back in time. If you get to choose skills or are able to min max skills, a gambler with high luck would be fun. Monk are often some of my favorite types to play as. Ninja going all in on agility / speed would be fun. More all around and don't get control of your stats, dragoon would be good. Spear is always a good choice.

Any final fantasy class? Top choice Reaper or Summoner. 2nd choice white mage and 3rd black mage.

Red mage. Overpowered red mage at it's peak is just straight jack of all trade master of all. Get all the magic you want while still being great with a sword, even get your own little special enchant spells as a bonus.

Dragoon, but only if we're kombining FF9 Freya's abilities with FF11's Dragoon.

If not, then either Ninja or Dark Knight.

Necromancer because they are the best mage class in FFV

White Mage/Devout. Cast Esunaja on the planet and make the shitty health insurance CEOs suffer.

Summoner or black mage

White Mage, Sage or Summoner. If I was a melee class, Dragoon or maybe Ninja for stealth. Dragoon is by far the best for melee though

Dragoon might be good fun, just to jump to places to get around quickly. White mage and time mage feel like they would be very practical. Geomancer could be fun.

Red Mage. It gets plenty of healing magic, which is the thing that would probably be most useful IRL, but it also gets other fun stuff like being able to throw around lightning bolts.

Fuck weapons. Ill break everything with my fists. Fuck status effects. Ill punch them out with my chakra. Fuck healing. I'll punch the hp back into myself.

With a monk, all problems look like nails but instead of carrying a hammer I punch the nails in with my fists

Terra's a Red Mage and Gau is kind of a hybrid of Blue Mage and Berserker. A Blueserker.

fwiw terra is black mage(and occasionally summoner) in crossover games and FFXIV machinist gets edgar's abilities (bioblaster, drill, chainsaw, etc.)

I feel like White Mage irl would be redundant when Red Mage exists. Like the only reason full life or Curaja is better than Raise or Cura is because you are short on time , but real life doesn't really have that issue since you arent going to be in a raid healing 3 other people ya know.

Black Mage is cool, especially if you get the classic hat.

Geomancer would also be useful.

Dark Knight to satisfy my inner edge, or White Mage because it would probably be the most useful Job unless I get into some JRPG fight.

Red Mage is absolutely better if solo. That's why I was asking the tc about parties. If I can be with enough people where the extra white magic stuff a white mage has can be useful I'd go with that, otherwise Red Mage for sure.
