Maybe not the best idea to bring up, but for people who genuinely do want to "shield" kids from the LGBT community on the basis that it will supposedly confuse them...aren't they just setting those kids up to be confused when they grow older? I never understood that logic

And when those sheltered kids go to college and are exposed to nee things and change some views the parents will freak out about the university indoctrinating their kids. And then try and punish universities.

This already happens now.

The idea is to indoctrinate hatred of LGBT people in the mean time. That is what "they'll be confused!" really means -- that the parents need more time to instill hatred.

Those kids are often also taught not to go to college (especially if they're women) and to fear cities/other counrties so unfortunately some of them never do escape the bubble and become "confused when they grow older".

Not to downplay how much this disgusts me, but there is a chance the state house votes this down. The state senate is batshit insane, and the state house is "only" fucking awful instead.

That's what I thought. Stupid news outlets reporting about Disney supposedly tarnishing its family-friendly image by having its bigwigs voice opposition to anti-LGBT legislation. Still sounds like cancel culture to me.

That's... suspiciously incredible news.I wonder what the story behind this is. I can't really believe this is Fox/Murdoch reacting to the Dominion stuff although maybe they are if Murdoch blames him the most for it? Just feels like he'd have been fired earlier if that was it.

Half a year's profit ain't nothing to sneeze at. They may not have straight up decided to ax him, but they were never going to take no action to try to prevent that in the future. Tucker may not have wanted to go along with it as I'm sure it would have involved a much tighter leash.

So I'm not putting the odds at zero. (Not to say firing Lemon is at all related, just whether they might try to hire Carlson)

Tucker was on MSNBC like 15 years ago. These top news personalities all bounce around, so I expect he'll go to CNN soon, and I can only hope that all this will be bad for both Fox News and CNN.
