Even if the punchline is funny, it will stop being funny after you've seen it two or thee or four, etc. times. Whereas if a commercial is about motivating people for example, you can see that a lot more times before it gets old. TBH something like the Super Bowl would have been perfect for a "funny" commercial because you only show it once. Now advertisers are doing it for every other commercial it seems Also a commercial like this is perfect. I tend to agree. A lot of these commercials now try to be funny or self aware constantly and it gets annoying. So many commercials are trying to do what Geico was/is doing but their ads got so annoying and were always some of the worst. Granted there are some pretty funny commercials out there still like having a talking dog tell you he's sick or something. I forget exactly how it went. Realistic animals talking always amuses me. Other good ones, but there are so many of the try hard variety. --- "A lesser talent couldn't have pulled it off. But I'm willing to bet on BoJack Horseman. Commercials just arent funny anymore. They all just do predictable Marvel quips now or whatever.
