To be honest, this is something Ive been afraid to ask. In the circles I grew up in, it was always only ever used in a derogatory manner. So hearing people use it in an inclusive way is sort of weird.

Plus, thanks to JK and KJK, theres a movement allied to that who are now dismantling the queer label?

My understanding is that it's anyone who's not both straight and cisgender, but I could be wrong. Not sure if people usually consider it to cover things that aren't strictly orientations / genders but often get lumped in with things that are (eg. demisexual).
