They're not bottomless. They give you 2 refills, then they stop.

I know people will say "just ask them, they will give you more", but remember, they don't ask you the first 2 times. You shouldn't be expected to ask. Either require me to ask everytime, or don't make me ask at all.

This is the same bullshit that AT&T "unlimited" plans used to do.

Edit: They taste really fucking good though.

I used to work at Olive Garden and the behind the door policy was basically "yeah it's all unlimited, but avoid that at all costs"

This is a lose/lose situation. Cause some people like when they come over and keep checking and others will complain thay they keep getting bothered and can just tell them when they need them. It's a situation where you can't please everyone. I personally prefer to just let them know. But I get it when they come check up.

That's fair. I like the policy at Texas Roadhouse. They don't ask, they just automatically supply you with more rolls if you're out. They don't seem to have a limit on how many refills you get (although I could be wrong). But I could see some customers getting annoyed at this.

I can understand that. I personally like it because I hate asking for shit lol. Most of the time, I want more, but feel bad being a pest, so I love the policy of them supplying them to me without question. Similar to how employees will refill your coffee if it's running low. I love that type of service lol.

More often than not, it's a waste of food. For every person who will eat what gets put on the table endlessly, there will be three people who are full and won't finish it.

On average, two refills are enough to placate most customers. For the occasional customer who wants more, they can simply ask.

In Olive Garden and every Mexican place that offers chips, I have rarely ever needed more than two refills. Had they just kept putting the food there after I didn't want anymore, I would have just left it there and it would have gone to waste.

I've never been to a Red Robin, am I missing out on anything?

I'm fine with having to ask, because I don't like having food I'm not going to eat shoved in my face to go to waste.

I wouldn't do this when I was younger, but now I'd just say, "I'm paying for unlimited refills. If you don't keep refilling it, I won't pay for it."

I don't think they've ever just brought more out for me. They'll usually stop by on occasion and ask if we need anything though, and I just ask for them then if I want more.

Do your Red Robins not have the paying station at each table that lets you reorder drinks/fries?

I only get 1 re-order mainly, but I often do it through the station and someone sends out the fries in a minute.

Even with the awesome salt spice they have, their fries arent worth ordering for bottomless.

I know. I've been a server. But if they stop coming by my table to refill drinks because they don't want to "lose money" on bottomless fries or whatever, I'm not going to pay for a service that they're refusing by avoidance.

If youre going for a third refill on your fries, Im thinking that maybe customer service isnt your biggest problem.

Nobody goes to Red Robin for their bottomless fries unless they are poor or extremely frugal to the point of being an unattractive human being

I sat down and my waitress gave my wife and I a basket of fries after she got our drinks. Then we both got fries with our dinners. That was more than enough fries.
