I just dont understand why it doesnt make sense though?

Its established that the Hearthians knowledge of space and space travel is EXTREMELY new in-story and their knowledge of it at all is shaky at best. Why WOULD they know anything about it? Youre just making a lot of assumptions on your own that directly contradict what is in the game and then getting upset at it because it doesnt match what you made up.

Might be worth noting that humans only started coming close to the actual age of the universe in the late 1950s. Chert being the first Hearthian to figure out the age of the universe seems reasonable?

To be clear I'd have been fine with "this one specific star just happens to be dying right now". I don't think that twist scales up very well though.
My point with this is that it's just the anthropic principle, which is a critical part of the actual cosmology of our world. So to say it's too coincidental is to say the anthropic principle is too coincidental, which sure it might be, but it's also totally real. It's another great use of real physics in the story.

One of the best gaming experiences from the past 10 years. Super magical and hit me really hard despite using a hint guide for half of it because I suck ass at parsing information. Soundtrack is insane too and nobody is even talking about it. 14.3 Billion Years in particular is a masterpiece.

God this game is so good.

To answer your question without giving away any story spoilers: You probably noticed by now that as the ash planet loses sand, a group of buildings connected by a bridge slowly appears. Each of those buildings have a teleportation stand that allows you to teleport to a different location. The mechanics of teleportation in the game involve standing on the special teleportation flooring tiles and then looking up. When the planet you are supposed to teleport to intersects with the crosshairs, then you teleport to that location.

Slightly more detailed spoilers on how to get to center of ash twin if you need the help: For ash twin, this is a little difficult because you don't want to get sucked up by the sandstorm, but that's exactly when the planet crosses the teleportation point. You'll want to find some nearby cover and time your jump on the teleportation platform at just the right moment. Dont forget to look up.

Just to be clear, looking up has literally nothing to do with how these things work and is not necessary.

I'm confused by why you would give a hint to getting into the ash twin instead of giving a hint to how to get to the black hole forge which has the hint for the ash twin in it anyway lol

Did you ever actually end up getting into the black hole forge? It would have answered your other question

Decided to do the DLC first because, simply put, I know how my brain works and this is how I will enjoy the game the most.

Beat the game, watch the ending, do the DLC, beat the game again and watch the ending again.

I can't think of a way to sour me on the game more than having to do the final Bramble section numerous times lol. Not a fan of how that one is designed.

I never played the DLC because it came out way after I had wringed everything out of the original I thought I was going to get from it.

How easy would it be to jump back in JUST for the DLC? It sounds like you need to re-beat the game after the DLC to get the full experience.

If you can just reload your file then it's very easy to jump into the DLC (aside from figuring out the first step for how to get there)

If you don't have your old file anymore, you'll miss out on a couple of small things if you haven't done certain tasks in the main game, but it's not a huge deal really (just make sure you go learn how to meditate from Gabbro for the love of god)

the dlc is very self-contained. You'll be spending your 22 minutes of the loop over and over again in the same location. No world hopping required like what was frequent with the main game. So I'd say you'd have no problem getting back into it.

As far as doing the dlc first before finishing the game, I hesitate to say this since it's clear you've made up your mind already, but I'm in the same camp as several others that the best way to experience outer wilds dlc is finishing the game, then dlc, then finish the game again. I'm not sure how spoiled you are on the ending of Outer Wilds, but having that knowledge going into the dlc really enriches the dlc experience in my opinion. It just gives you a fuller perspective on it. With that being said, it's not necessary to finish the game first, so feel free to do it the way you want to, which it sounds like is what you're doing.

Yeah, you can also accomplish this by just getting into your space ship and flying away from the sun. Eventually, you'll be so far away that you'll be out of the blast radius. But as you stated, the loop will reset itself and you along with it, whether you are dead or alive at the time of reset.

Yeah, be careful with the DLC and asking advice. There are SO MANY instances I've seen where people will tell you to "try this thing that you are absolutely not supposed to know to do following the logical progression" as your hint to progress.

My main advice for it is to be observant and make sure you examine everything carefully, try to avoid brute forcing things if you have no clue about the answer and instead really think about cause and effect or look elsewhere for more options/information, and if something seems really challenging compared to the rest of the game, there could be an easier way to do it.

Definitely finish the main game first, before doing the DLC.

Otherwise, the main game's ending won't be as impactful (because you were off doing the DLC for like 10-20 hours, and can't remember what the main game was about, as much).

Well honestly the main reason for doing the ending first instead of the DLC is that the DLC isn't really great. It has a certain tedium to it that seriously kills the momentum of the game. It's means to be chewed on and experimented with for a longer period of time, to kinda extend the playtime. It totally doesn't fit into the absolutely flawless pacing of the main game.

I'm really enjoying the DLC. It's definitely a different experience from base Outer Wilds (mostly because the ship isn't really a factor) but the core exploration and sense of problem solving through knowledge acquisition is still there.

I also think the story elements are a fantastic foil to the base game's, although I'll hold off on detailed thoughts until I learn everything. For now I'll just comment that the deer/owl/whatever people having an anti-jumpscare is really funny. They grab you, open their creepy mouth like they're about to eat you...then just casually blow out the candle.
