Gamers are already content with purchasing barely functional annualized carbon copy "AAA" games, but that one time, it was almost a case study regarding how much of a turd a game can be, without gamers stooping just as low.

The thing couldn't even run on half the systems it released for, so that was a main focal point, that took attention away from the fact that it released as a prototype with almost none of the advertised gameplay features in place.

And it recouped development costs almost instantly

People still defend the damn thing to this day, on this board, even. Sad times

In Sales, it's not the first bad product that involves the massive lose, it's the second product.

They're remaking the Witcher to avoid such consequence

People who game, the term is pretty self explanatory

I waited until the PS5 version was available and the game itself was far more stable.

Does that change your judgement of someone like ME?

Ah you mean the common anything-with-pre-release-hype enthusiast.
I'm not amazed that they went for it at all.

This, and it was on sale for like $22. I dont hold little grudges though. I haven't played it much, but seemed fine from what I did.

Everyone has their own personal circumstances to do or not do x, but as a demographic, it was disgusting. Thing didn't even run, yet still recouped costs in a WEEK

What do you mean gobbled up? It had a massive amount of refund requests, so much that I believe Sony and MS had expanded refund policies specifically for the game since it had so many. If you mean like pre-orders, it's not hard to imagine why everyone was hyped, it was promised as this beautiful and massive cyberpunk game coming off the heels of what many consider to be one of the GOAT games and I remember it reviewing very well.

That's more of a problem with the preorder crowd.

People who waited before buying it got a really enjoyable experience.

Also if you don't don't want to play it but still want to see what all the hubbub is about, you can get the condensed version by watching the uncensored version of the music video for Smack My Bitch Up by The Prodigy.

This. Time and again we are shown why preordering is dumb and yet we keep doing it.

I loved Cyberpunk tho. But I also played it a year after the release and all that patches.

I know japenese games are not free of bugs, but compared to western release, they have a way better track records. I will buy japenese games on release when I like a series, but I will wait for western games a few months before getting said products

I mean, gamers have proven they can't even take the single-easiest step and just not buy a game at all, in order to help themselves. Your life would not have been any better or worse, for the majority of you, if you never played this game at all, but buying it, regardless of the point-in-time, just helps solidify these practices. Then you cry about the fact that their practices get worse and worse over time. There are so many games, literally thousands of alternatives that people have not played, so the excuse of "nothing else out there" just doesn't hold up.

Weak.

I got in on PS4 maybe a year ago because it was being clearanced out for less than $10. Not real far into it, but it works fine for me too.

The game was fine for me. Performance wasn't great on my PC, but it wasn't terrible either. I ended up not playing a ton of it, but that ends up happening to a lot of games for me.
