At my old workplace we never needed to check in when working from home except once at the start of each week

So at my new place, my boss asked me to check in daily with an email each morning i am working from home

I thought it was super weird at first but oh well it's not an insane ask

So I wrote a script that would automatically send him an email

He would usually reply to these emails with "thanks"

But then if I started adding any text to the emails he would never reply

In one email I told him my plans to attend a certain meeting

And he just replied "thanks" and then later sent me another email asking if I was going to attend that meeting I explicitly told him I was going to attend

Then today I asked if we could reschedule our staff meeting because I had a conflict and all I got was a "thanks"

I had to message him closer to the meeting time to ask again and he said "oh are you attending that other event?"

Like he didn't even read my morning emails lol. Yeah he's definitely running a script too

tl;dr

I got annoyed my boss asked me to email him every morning so I wrote a script, he wrote a script to reply to my email
