Costs more to buy a new one.

I ditched the electric ones and went classic. They get a closer shave and feel good.

Oh, also, some electric have cleaning filters too. They really wanna nickel and dime you.

Ive always found the electric ones to be a bit lacking. Never feels like a clean shave.

They also usually give you some kind of oil to use on the blades. I've never done that. Too lazy.

I've always felt like razors do a better job of keeping a clean shave compared to the electric variants. A $20 6-pack of replacement blades usually lasts me about a year of shaving my head/cleaning up my cheeks/neck around my beard.

I've started using my electric shaver more since I got a CPAP machine. The face mask wasn't sealing good with my beard so I shaved and it's just easier to make a few passes with the electric one every day.

Doesn't get it as close as as a razor but it suits my needs for now. Will likely shave once a week or so with my safety razor just to be extra smooth.

Depends on which model you have.

Some take longer to replace then the others.

For me, it took years before I needed to replace the blade on my Norelco One-Blade.

After I replaced it with a new set that I bought online.

I kinda gave up having to constantly put my electric shaver through cycles of cleaning while having to buy more for the filter and new blades.

Went back to standard razors and its just easier. Might buy another electric shaver again or something down the line.

Ive been using the same beard trimmer for at least 8 years. Ive only recently considered replacing it because I lost an attachment I liked, but it works just fine. Ive never taken any care of it whatsoever.
