All hail the party of regression. Not conserving what is present and good, not respecting anything who isn't them, not refraining from projection, hypocrisy, obstruction, and other semblances of vitriol, but pulling the rest of the country back to ye olde oonga boonga days when man carry stick man decide all things.

Well no, this is about as hostile as they were in the 1930s when they were either in Germany doing the book burnings, etc., or were here in the US taking part in Nazi Youth meetings or adopting blue-for-boys-pink-for-girls to avoid having pink-wearing men seem feminine or gay (gods forbid). And before that there was the Klan in their violent glory. So no, it's a step in regression, albeit a very active and dangerous step that some among them will be too keen to deny despite the evidence to their wrongdoings.

Trans is a prefix; by itself it means nothing.

Did texas pass laws against transceivers? Transporters? Transponders? How about transcontinental railroads? Doubt it.

So no, they didnt pass anything "anti-trans" as you ignorantly assert.

Yes. It's why they insist that transitioning is "sexualizing." Because they fetishize trans people and then project their fetishization onto trans people so that they can blame them for their own perversity.

They're actively trying to eliminate civil rights, because it disturbs them that there are people that aren't evangelical, straight, white and male.

Tbh I dont doubt that thats the case, but thats not really the point. Its a real slippery slope to make claims like that and nobody asks for verification just because it sounds about right. This is how people find themselves in echo chambers and misinformation spreads because things like this sound plausible enough.

So yeah I would love to see a source actually

as far as i know none of the anti-trans bills in texas this year have passed both houses.

https://legiscan.com/gaits/search?state=TX&keyword=%22biological+sex%22
(i used a full-text search for "biological sex" bc in my experience tracking this stuff that phrase tends to always be included in the bill text whereas words like 'transgender' etc typically arent)

about 188 bills have been sent to the governor this year (annoyingly, legiscan has full-text search but not status search, and the texas capitol search application (as far as i can figure it out) has status search but not full-text search)

all bills sent to governer: https://tinyurl.com/5fa3u3z8

the claim in the OP could be interpreted more literally as "passed either house", but I doubt the statement is literally true in that case either.

I'm a Texas resident and agree with many of these bills. For example, housing prison inmates according to their biological sex. Putting inmates together who have different sex organs will, of course, result in pregnancy. These are things that should just be common sense, but unfortunately there's little of that going around these days.

Ingesting plastic definitely means people become obsessed with transgender individuals.

Also it's important to note that microplastics have been in the environment and in our food and water for over a century at this point, it's just that we're just now beginning to learn how pervasive the problem is.

Serious answer, it's because of the rapidly growing acceptance of them. There are people who still consider them mutilated freaks, who just up out of nowhere adopted the transgender "culture", and the idea of them convincing their children to do the same is a great way to fearmonger. None of that is based in reality, but that's what happens when you cling to an unchanging fundamental view of the world. Just a couple years ago we were pretending that being gay was a choice.

Basically it's just them digging a deeper whole, since we're all still pissed about the way they treated the gays. One day they'll pretend they were cool with transgender people all along. And they love speaking out of both sides of their mouths, on one side calling them child grooming pedophiles, and out the other saying they just want reasonable limits so that people don't rush into it and make a mistake.

I have not seen one anti gay person of note suddenly pretend to be cool with gay people, they still spew just as much vile hatred for both, just look at Supreme Justice Clarence Thomas.

Non trans gay rights are very much still under threat and only a straight person won't realize that.

Meanwhile, putting trans women in men's prisons puts them at an extremely high risk of being assaulted, raped, and/or killed. Personally, I see that as being a worse outcome than possibly having two consenting adults make a baby together because apparently it's 1784 and the mere existence of an unsupervised penis and vagina in the same room will inevitably lead to pregnancy and scandal. Even more so where that risk can be pretty much entirely eliminated by offering an IUD to the uterus-haver, mitigated even further by ensuring ready access to abortions, and it's likely low in the first place because hormone therapy tends to have pretty adverse effects on fertility. And if the uterus-haver wants to get pregnant in jail, conjugal visits are already a thing without having to bring trans people into the equation, so acting like it's only a problem when trans people are involved means you're either disingenuously hiding behind a flimsy excuse and hoping nobody will notice, or you genuinely didn't think the issue through at all. Neither possibility reflects particularly well on you, so maybe consider a different opinion.

Which is why regulations around trans athletes have certain requirements that must be met, including testing hormone levels. Trans athletes have been permitted in the Olympics since 2004. Since then, I believe there have been like three that even qualified to attend and only one that earned a medal (and that was as part of a team, and I don't believe they were considered the MVP). It's not a matter of "a man decides to be a woman and then wins women's sports" for pretty much any meaningful sports organization, and even at other levels pretty much the only time that ever happens is when some alt-right troll decides he wants to make a point (in which case they comprise the full extent of the problem). For those that are actually transitioning, hormone therapy tends to have enough adverse health effects that excelling at sports is a challenge.

The sports issue is one that, hypothetically considering it at face value, seems like it's going to be a real problem, but the fact of the matter is that there's a ton of precedent available to examine, and the supposed domination of trans women in women's sports simply hasn't happened. It still warrants scrutiny to make sure the regulations employed are doing their job properly, and I'm sure further adjustments will be needed moving forward, but the fact of the matter is that categorically banning trans girls and women from girls' and women's sports isn't actually necessary to maintain a level playing field (not that the playing field is ever truly level, because genetic advantages that aren't sex-based get a free pass more often than not).

Again, absolute horseshit, it never went away or "was on the decline" it's just largely invisible to non queer people. There's an author of a queer book I follow and after they released their book they pointed out and showed several videos they were sent of people burning their book in hate. It wasn't that long ago Trump was in office and enforcing anti-gay policies despite saying he wouldn't. Gay marriage has only been legal across the States since 2015, less than a decade ago. Trying to tell me "it's not that bad" or some shit like that only leads me to think you're straight and in that case, you're only proving my point that you think it's better for us than it is. Yeah it's true it's easier for non-trans qeer people to exist, sure but that doesn't mean we don't still face hatred.
