azuarc 04/23/23 1:36:41 AM #2:	He's the MLB all-time leader in hits, and his transgressions (betting in favor of his own team) are far less scandalous than anything that directly taints the sport with doping or sign-stealing or use of sticky substances to get an edge. As a player, he was known as Charlie Hustle because he embodied everything about succeeding via effort. He wasn't necessarily the greatest athlete, but he succeeded because he had heart...it's just that he's not the sort of Disney-esque feel-good personality that you normally associate with that trope, and for that, it's hard to feel bad for him. --- Only the exceptions can be exceptional. <cite>azuarc posted [p:973017868] in Do you bel... If he bet the same amount on the Reds every game to win, and that was the extent of his gambling, Id say they should let him in after he dies.
