How so?

World War 1 and world War 2 are the two deadliest wars in recent memory. No one disputes this.

Yet covid killed more americans than both of those wars, and in far less time. (2 years compared to 6)

And Republicans kept insisiting it wasn't a big deal, that it was "fake" or "just like the flu".

Seems pretty relevant to me that something repubs said was "no big deal" was deadlier than the two deadliest wars in the last hundred years in a fraction of the time.
The two are completely different things and causes for death is why.

Which is why you compare them to the same. Wars to wars, virus to viruses. And theres no shortage of the latter obviously. So using WW1 instead of the Spanish flu then both makes no sense and even if it did is unnecessary.

To those saying, ohh its only 0.3% or what ever. But its still 1.1million lives. And if we did better collectively, we could reduce that number death toll by half or even more.

Crazy how Democrat leadership is also letting them get away with it.

Not "both sides"-ing it, the GOP is absolutely evil. But the Dems are no less than complicit with it.

Biden certainly didn't bungle the Covid response with the same malice and ineptitude as Trump, but he still bungled it; it's one of my chief grievances concerning Biden's presidency thus far.

You know, COVID numbers are down but excess deaths are still about the same

excess deaths compared to when exactly? Were three years in now. When do excess deaths become the new normal?

Just to repeat myself from earlier:

Take the death numbers and also add in the number of people who are still experiencing long COVID symptoms that have a hugely detrimental impact on their quality of life.

oh definitely. You also have to weigh this up with people who missed regular checkups and other more important surgeries due to hospitals being full of people who hadnt taken covid seriously and people affected by people who hadnt taken covid seriously.

in the uk for example there was an increase on preventable cancer deaths due to so many regular check ups being delayed.
