It's really hard for me to find the motivation to watch Mandalorian season 3 knowing I'm gonna be back to the simple stuff. Didn't even love that show all that much before I watched Andor. Just the blatant cliche tropes delivered right in front of you. But it's not afraid to challenge your beliefs, or at least tries to pretend well enough that it's smart. And gives you characters that can be viewed from a more real spectrum, certainly a dark one. Been going through it slowly, and it's aged well, despite not being finished. Still appreciate starwars here and there. Play Lego Skywalker last year. And the Jedi knight games. But the any of the new material just doesn't phase me at all. Almost every single thing they've done is set in an era on the timeline where there is no question as to what happens next. Like, no matter how much you play up Obi Wan's story, we know where it's going and how it ends, essentially removing any tension or stakes from anything he does. Yea, it can still be tense in the moment, but the second you realize, "Oh yea, he still needs to be on Tatooine for the start of A New Hope...", whatever happens next just turns to, well... fluff. --- Hey Trashcan Man! Not everything needs to be The Wire or Breaking Bad, sometimes a basic good vs evil plot is fun. I agree that simple stories can be fun, but I feel like Star Wars leans back on that way too much. When everything is simple, it all starts to feel the same. Especially when they all take place during roughly the same time period. FWIW, I enjoyed Solo quite a bit despite being "simple". It leaned heavy into the Western vibe so I dug it. And Clone Wars, especially Season 7, is top-tier Star Wars content. Obi-Wan....existed.
