Almost literally just started, so don't spoil me since I have no idea what happens other than the general idea shit is going to hit the fan.

I'd like to take this early moment to say I want to kick myself in the nuts. That is, the MC. I want to kick him in his stupid nuts. >_> I'm supposed to relate to a guy who is all "oh woe is me I don't like to read or write poetry" and he goes "Well I like tea but not reading"

I can't be less like this guy if I tried, the whole lets break the ice by writing poems thing would be fun for me. Too bad the poem was just "choose words".

Also I'm looking to see who cracks first. It's just a shame it cant be the mc's testicles because he sucks and i want to kick him in the nuts.

I'm convinced that whatever happens, MC Kun will choose the worst possible thing to say. I'm playing the ps5 version because I'm a loser who wants trophies. There's an entertaining fake desktop thing I played around with a little; lots of files you can't open and a few weird files talking about meetings and something about solid drivers or something. I know as much about computers as MC Kun does about writing.

So far I had Sayori solve an argument the girls were having and she replied that both more complex and simple writing had their merits which tbh is how I feel about the subject..

But yeah some of those words I could choose in the first poem writing were quite ominous. I think the game is pretty short so I expect trouble soon.

Those words are on the cover of the Hitchhiker's Guide. And they are the reason it sells better than the Encyclopedia Galactica.

In the first and second poetry thing I tried to mostly pick words Sayori liked, childhood friends get so robbed or so i hear.

Not that I expect there to be routes or any of that in this, I'm not even sure how much this part matters.

Wonder if the order I show the poem matters. This is the second one now.

Man these poems are ominous now. If I wasn't waiting for the other shoe to drop I'd just be like "Getting a bit artsy I see". Also Yuri seems to think I dislike her. It's possible that there was some overlap on the Sayori and Natsuki words. But also I'm not sure how many variations there are of these scenes.

Am I getting more Sayori focus? I dunno. I haven't played that many vn to be honest.

Aha, I must have been. Looking at the unlocked pictures I see that writing a poem for Sayori in the first and second unlocked the apple juice forehead bruise picture (and likely scene)

Although I'm seeing only spots for two more poems for her while the other girls seem to have at least five which is.. concerning.

Meanwhile I said I'd totally walk home with her anyway because I'm still pretending this is some kind of normal dating sim or something.

Ouch, straight up Yuri doesn't want to talk poetry with me on day 3. I wonder if something I did caused that.

Going in as blind as possible is the best way.

Eh, the game starts with a content warning.

And most people wouldn't play it without knowing it's creepy.

Yeah I think I might have gotten bored by now if I wasn't expecting something messed up to happen. Stein's Gate, the other vn I played (aside from the entire Ace Attorney series other than GAA2 if that counts) was much funnier even when it was spinning it's wheels at the start.

Sayori admitted to me she's had depression her whole life in a scene in her room and if this were some other game I feel like maybe your pure love could save her or whatever but I have this bad feeling things aren't ending well in this game. So maybe less murder and more the other thing incoming.

incidentally I watched the entire school days anime and it's not that I regret it now that its over as such but man it was pretty awful

Great game. Loved the whole thing.

I did, was definitely a magical time before pop cultural osmosis happened. Had the same thing with Undertale and Cuphead.

I don't think you're really supposed to identify with him. I always saw him as basically a parody of dating sim protagonists.

Then again a parody of something like that is pretty indistinguishable from the real thing.

well this is part of why I said that - that content warning was not always there. I do agree far less people would play it without knowing something was up so there's definitely a lot gained but there's also a bit lost

Well that went about as well as I expected. Sayori did not respond well to being told you love her. It didn't help that MC kun's idea of being supportive is to tell her he knew what she needed more than she did yeesh.

Then he's all "oh no this isn't a video game where I can just reload and do it over" and I'm like "ok the game really wants me to try that" (I did make a bunch of earlier saves)

I'm not going to though, just like in Undertale I'm committed on a first run. No matter what happens.

Later on I go in and fuck around and see what different choices do. Huge Undertale spoilers; of course Undertale had my number and mocked me for doing that, saving people one day and killing them all the next lol..

i saw the glitch effects too, and the whole "error message"

Also I did in fact catch Monika knew too much and earlier was the one to "break the fourth wall" and suggest I make backup saves in case I want to "do something over" was it? Tee hee don't pay attention to that MC but do pay attention to that player what I said nothing tee hee

Current theory; She's some kind of programmer playing with some AI based video game and tweaking the NPCs to see what happens

Other theory: she's Satan

I probably did since I closed it; I'm not planning to try and manipulate anything with save scumming, I bet they have something planned for that anyway. But it's not my style.

If I want to play more after I finish the game I'll definitely try some things like that though. If it's as easy to play as the other visual novels I played I will; speaking of I forgot to mention I had played the Re Zero visual novel as well.

Oh I had stopped one screen from an end screen

Now there's a glitched play button and her thing is glitched on the menu and checking yeah her character data file is gone.

I didn't remember earlier but I do remember now someone saying something about them disappearing in later play throughs? I'm not sure how many ir how that works. Just the sentence I just said, and I only just remembered.

Think I'll try to get the pink haired girl killed next because she's the next most energetic. Want to try and coax more words out of the quiet purple haired girl and the normal but probably Satan Monika.

Thanks to using the cheat sheet I found in the "game files" I got a perfect Natsuki poem. Then today Yuri's face glitched for a moment which was unexpected.

Perhaps that indicates when someone is taking a line in the place of someone gone.

This is great to read because you normally don't get to see someone play this game completely blind anymore.

Most of the characters are love interests, it's just Monika that is a backdrop "NPC."

Yuri is definitely the one that the MC seems like he wants the most. Even in the first run he was kind of salivating over her.
