At a glance this might be my most successful year. I don't think my original noms did too well but a few of them made it in, and almost all of my nominations used were on songs that made it without really trying to metagame too hard.

Crazy that a track that had no problems getting to 6 last year got no support this year. Not sure how much of that is due to lower nom cap

people may not want the same songs in every year

This is the first time that I have ever had a bubble song selected to the field

Excluding last year which didn't have a bubble, I think I'm now 4 contests in a row for having a song I was the original nominator for get cut on the bubble.

immensely thankful that gnorman's theme made it. that was something where if i had been more quick/calculated/confident in what i was doing would've supported during that last rush, and regretted knowing it'd possibly get cut because of my neglect there

In the literal last minute I had to decide to double a 4/4 or a 4/3... I chose the 4/4, not knowing that it would have been safe on its own. So I'm very grateful that my abandoned 4/3 was able to survive the bubble anyway.

Plus I got one of my own noms at 4/3 to make it in, after I had given up hope of that song gaining any support. So between that and the 5+ confirmed field, this nom period went quite well for me.

I was expecting the worst prior to the contest. I said I would be content if I got one in, happy if I got two, and ecstatic if I got three. I got one in, so I guess I shouldn't complain, even though I could!

As far as how the stuff I supported did, things seemed to go well with my "help the disadvantaged" approach. (edit: the reason I use this approach is to maximize my impact on the bracket.. .after all, why support a song when it's likely going to get in regardless?) The problem was that I had like three supports to use toward the end, but there wasn't much I truly cared about that would benefit from them and I ended up wasting like three noms to put stuff from 5/x up to 6/x. But hey, I only had to drop three or four supports throughout the whole nom process (and I ultimately ended up with 18 songs making it), so overall my strategy yielded good results this year (better than how things went last year using the same approach).

Not sure, but it was a great idea. Definitely worked out much better than 30 noms. I like how the lock deadling on second last day thing worked out.
