I been sick for the past couple of days too. worst symptom for me is feeling like I can't breath while laying down

Took a covid self test. Was negative. It hurts so much when I swallow the pain is nonpareil for me. I guess I've been lucky in life. Got some coughing syrup with sedating effects from the drug store so hopefully i can sleep better tonight. Also got some suckers with painkiller effects that are supposedly much better than regular over the counter stuff you get at any convenience store. Sadly I can't take them with ibuprofen(?) so since I took one of those four hours ago I cant use it until tomorrow. Sucks to suck. Would really like for today to be the worst of it.

Sounds more like Flu, Covid, Mono, Sinus Infection etc then a cold if it hurts that bad with a fever tbh.

Generally colds don't have severe pain, high fever, severe sore throat etc.

To be honest I don't know what the difference is between any of those than covid. I thought cold and influenza was the same thing.

Sounds much more like the flu than a cold.

Flu is notably more severe on average then a cold. Colds are virtually never fatal(though they occasionally lead to other illnesses that can be like a Sinus Infection though that also is somewhat rare to kill) and typically just an unpleasant annoyance. Its probably the least severe type of common contagious disease.

Flu however does kill. At a very low rate mind you and typically the dominant strain is less fatal then Covid has been. But if you have flu stay the fuck home to protect others and make recovery easier because its highly contagious so even a 1 in a 3000 rate(pulled out of my ass but probably not too far off) likely means 6 digit deaths a year worldwide.

I had a upper middle age Coworker several years ago who worked several shifts with a flu and died.

Its not a severe disease for most but its serious enough to take seriously and even if you can nake it through fine its likely to suck far more then a cold would.

My brain and throat hurts slightly less today, so I'm going to consider that a sign that the sickness's down withness is waning. Yay!... I hope.

I've never had anything more than a common cold so it's not been something I've thought about I guess. I will from now on. Thanks for the info.
