Sorry in advance for the vagueness.

A few years ago, the Texas government told a whole bunch of companies that they're allowed to overcharge us. There are laws in place dictating what these companies can charge, but a government attorney put out a notice falsely telling everyone that the law has been overturned. Since then, these companies have accumulated TENS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS in illegal overcharges. They might've even overcharged you!

I'm not a lawyer but I did a bunch of research. I know exactly why the government attorney thinks this, and their reasoning is wrong. The law has not been overturned. It's been found to be unenforceable in specific circumstances. These circumstances do not apply here.

I call a lawyer and they agree with me. They say they need to do more research but they want to pursue the case if it has merit. I sent them my receipt. But like... should I keep shopping around for more lawyers? Should I be contacting the media? I don't know what the proper strategic moves are here for the victims to recover as much as possible. The lawyer I called was asking me if I've told other lawyers or the media about my suit; I don't know if the effect of going to the media would be good or bad for the suit. My gut says that doing anything without the explicit instructed by a lawyer is likely to be bad, however.
