Ive been exclusively eating pasta and chicken for like, the last two years. I decided to try cooking at home instead of eating out, and Im confused on how this works.

Rice and pasta are like the only things that last. I cooked stuffed peppers today and I feel like they would last two days before I gotta cook again.

Cooking every two days seems like a giant hassle.

Only one or two actual meals per week. Otherwise it's a lot of frozen food in the oven, sandwiches, or leftovers.

Typically when I do cook, I make family sized portions so they last me a good chunk of the week anyways.

I cook everyday
On weekends I'll cook a large batch of something like rice, beans, lentils. And I'll eat that for lunch everyday.

For dinner I'm usually just doing something simple like a stir fry or eggs or whatever

Usually twice at weekends. And 1-2 times during week days.

On week days, we have lunch in the cantine of our company. For dinner, we often only buy a fresh bread and enjoy that with some cheese, dry meat, butter and honey/marmelade, mixed up with fruits and joghurt. Or we prepare a salad, for example lettuce and cherry tomatoes, or cucumber and cottage cheese. Sometimes we cook, but only meals that are prepared quickly.

On weekends, we cook for dinner. I love it. It's relaxing to prepare food and tastes so good.

TC, try out recipes that aren't too complicated and don't take too long to prepare. Make a list of the menus you liked and save those recipes. It's great when you have like 10-15 "standard meals" that you're able to prepare. It's not that hard.

"Cook" is generous when I'm really just preparing, but usually 3-4 weekdays will be doing my own thing and for rest I either order or pick up a sandwich/wrap.

Usually 3-4 times a week.

If youre looking for large batch meals, two favorites of mine would be chili and cornbread, as well as shepherds pie. Both of these are still pretty good reheated in the microwave in my experience.

Pretty much exactly this. I make two huge stretch meals, sometimes even prep a bit too and fill in the blanks with convenient to make food because I work all the time.

I'll eat home cooked food 5-6 nights a week. Whether I cook that much is a different story, as I'll make a big pot of something that'll last me like 3-4 days, including with a few lunches in there. Quite often my Dad will swing by with leftovers of something he and my stop mum have made.

I'll probably get a kebab from the takeaway once a week or sometimes a maccies.
